Opening up a Course for a Student with an Incomplete

Description

If there is a student who was issued an Incomplete, here is the process for reopening a closed course for that student. This will only grant access to the student in question. This process has two parts for faculty:

  1. Opening the course to the student.
  2. Removing access to the course/submitting the Grade Change Form.

Step-by-Step: Part 1 (To grant access)

  1. Click on Communicate on the Navbar in the class you want open.
  2. Click on Classlist.
  3. Check the box next to the students' name.
  4. Click on Enrollment,  at the top of the classlist.
  5. Click on --Select a New Role--
  6. Click on Student-Incomplete. This role automatically grants the student access to the course, so there is no need to activate the course.
  7. Click on Save.
  8. Inform the student they now have access, and to repin the course. Student tutorial on pinning a course

Step-by-Step: Part 2 (Removing the student)

  1. Click on Communicate on the Navbar.

  3. Check the box next to the students' name.
  4. Click on Enrollment,  at the top of the classlist.
  5. Click on --Select a New Role--
  6. Click on Student.
  7. Click on Save.
  8. Complete the Grade Change Form.

Remember, a grade change request must be submitted for the incomplete to be changed on the student’s transcript.
