This guide reviews the Zoom meeting controls found in your Zoom meeting. Starting with the furthest left icon on your screen, this guide will review meeting controls from left to right.
1. Audio Controls: Allows you to join an audio source, mute or unmute yourself. Clicking the up arrow next to the microphone icon allows you to change the microphone and speaker that Zoom is currently using on your computer, leave computer audio, and access the full audio settings.
2. Video Controls: Allows you to turn your camera on or off with in the meeting. Clicking the up arrow next to the video icon allow you to change cameras if you have multiple cameras, select a virtual background (if enabled), or access your full video settings.
3. Security: Allows you to manage some of the meeting and control participant settings for the meeting.
4. Participants: Clicking the participants icon will reveal the list of participants on the right hand side of the meeting. From the participant list, hover over your name to rename yourself of add/remove your pronouns.
5. Polls: The polling feature for meetings allows you to create single choice or multiple choice polling questions for your meetings. You will be able to launch the poll during your meeting and gather the responses from your attendees. If you do not seeing the Polls icon, you may need to update your Zoom to the latest version. 6. Chat: Reveals chat window on right side of the meeting screen. Allows you to chat with participants.
7. Share Screen: Start a screen share. You will be able to select the desktop or application you want to share.
8. Record: Allows you to start recording at any time during the meeting. Select "record to cloud" when recording. You can pause and continue the recording at any time. Participants (students) cannot record zoom meetings from the meeting controls.
9. Reactions: This area allows all participants to select an emoji to be displayed in the top right hand corner of their screen in the meeting. There is a raised hand feature here that can be helpful for group discussions.
